Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholarships

Between Queens' College and the Macau Institute of Technology (MUST)

The Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholarships are an initiative to support three exceptional Master's students from the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) to pursue postgraduate studies at Queens'. The President, Dr Mohamed El-Erian, signed the agreement with Chair Professor Joseph Hun-wei Lee representing MUST.

These scholarships are available thanks to a generous donation from Dr Liu Chak Wan, Chancellor of MUST. The three part-scholarships will be available for MUST graduates who have gained admission to postgraduate (Master's level only) degree programmes at the University of Cambridge from October 2024.

Each scholarship is worth £30,000 and can be used to cover academic fees or maintenance costs; the scholarship recipients must conduct their postgraduate study at Queens' College and (normally) should have put Queens' as their first-choice College.

Watch the video of the signing ceremony here, and visit the MUST website for more information on the University.

"I am thrilled that we are partnering with the Macau University of Science and Technology to offer the Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholarship for exceptional students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies here at the University. We are incredibly grateful to the Chancellor of MUST, Dr Liu, for his generosity. We very much look forward to welcoming the three first Master's students from MUST joining our intellectual community here in October 2024."
