  • Set up his own video games company, Elixir Studios in 1998
  • PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL, 2005 - 2009
  • Henry Wellcome postdoctoral research fellowship at UCL, 2009-10, including research at Harvard and MIT
  • Co-founded DeepMind in 2010, an AI company which was bought by Google for £400M in January 2014 (their largest European acquisition to date)
  • Demis is now the Chief Artificial Intelligence Scientist of Google DeepMind
  • DeepMind is currently working on applying its AI algorithms to the areas of healthcare and climate change

The Hassabis Fellowship

The Hassabis Fellowship in Computer Science has been endowed to produce an annual amount that covers the cost of a senior University Teaching Officer in the Department of Computer Science & Technology to teach at Queens’. This Fellowship was endowed in 2015.

  • Principal Researcher at Github

Andrew is Professor of Computer Security in the Department of Computer Science and Technology. His research work focuses on programming and software engineering, including programming languages and tools in the sciences, machine learning techniques, and static analysis and software development.
