The Trevor Bradley Fellowship in Chemistry

£600,000 has been raised thanks to the generous donation of Trevor Bradley (1989, Fellow Benefactor) to support the teaching of Chemistry at Queens'.

Trevor studied for an MA in Natural Sciences at Queens', specialising in Chemistry. He has previously supported both academic and extra-curricular activities at the College, including the Men's and Women's Football Club.

The inaugural Trevor Bradley Fellow

Professor Rod Jones (1991, Life Fellow) held the position of Trevor Bradley Fellow in Chemistry prior to his retirement in 2022.

  • BSc (Cantab), DPhil (Oxon)
  • Worked in the Met Office for 5 years from 1985-1990
  • Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Sciences within the Department of Chemistry
  • Previously Assistant Director of Studies for Physical Natural Sciences and Vice President of Queens' College for six years

Rod specialises in the observational study of atmospheric structure and photochemistry, including finding solutions to climate change and air pollution. As an Official Fellow he supervised Part III students, MPhil & PhD students, Erasmus exchange students and hosted Post-Doctoral Research Associates. He founded FAAM (Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements) which is dedicated to the advancement of atmospheric science through the investigation of the environmental impact of new aircraft systems.
