The President's Annual Address

Alumna Sally Boyle (1980) interviews the President of Queens' College, Dr Mohamed El-Erian, for the President's Annual Address to College alumni & supporters, with an introduction from the Governor of the Bank of England, Dr Andrew Bailey (1978, Honorary Fellow) and the Development Director, Rowan Kitt.

Dr Mohamed El-Erian

Mohamed El-Erian was appointed as the 42nd President of Queens' College in 2020. Mohamed read Economics as an undergrad scholar in 1977-80. He is also the Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz, a Financial Times contributing editor and previously served as chair of President Obama's Global Development Council.

Sally Boyle (1980)

Sally Boyle studied Law at Queens' in 1980 and was one of the first cohort of women to join the College. Sally is a retired Partner of Goldman Sachs, having served as the International Head of Human Capital Management of the firm for many years. She is a current member of the Law Society of England and Wales, a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in England and Wales and a non-executive director of the Royal Air Force. Sally recently visited Queens' in April to attend the Commemoration & Ceremony of Benefactors and Benefactors' Feast.

Dr Andrew Bailey (1978, Honorary Fellow)

Andrew Bailey has been the Governor of the Bank of England since March 2020 after previously serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) from 2016. At Queens' he studied an MA and PhD in History before going into a career in economics. He was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the College in 2018. Andrew most recently visited Cambridge for an In Conversation event with the President at The Cambridge Union.
